Join Tai Chi push hands champions Rick Barrett and Stephe Watson for a delightful day of Tai Chi, humor, Chi Kung, and push hands at the beautiful Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Gardens in Staten Island. Rick and Stephe depart from the well-worn path to offer their unique and inspired insights about the internal arts. No experience required. There will be time for interacting with regional Tai Chi players, your questions, and energetic experimentation.
Included is a group tour of the remarkable Chinese Scholars' Garden (http://www.snug-harbor.org/horticulture/scholars/vtour/vtour.html). The Scholar's Garden was hand-crafted by mainland artisans on the site and must be experienced to be believed. Stephe offers insights that go far beyond the standard tour guide patter.
Seminars begin at 10:30 am. Lunch 12:30-2pm ($10, free to prepaid students). Afternoon session 2-4. Scholars Garden tour 4-5.
We’ll then adjourn to Chinatown for a sumptuous feast at 7 pm. Bonus good times included at no extra charge.
Cost: $108. Includes seminars, dinner, and Scholars' Garden tour.
$85 without dinner.
